The Mid-Term Deadline is March 13, 2026

Friday, March 13, 2026 is the Spring 2026 deadline for students to:

  • Drop Spring 2026 full semester courses without a W
  • Elect Credit/No Credit grading for Spring 2026 full semester courses
  • File a request for Grade Replacement for Spring 2026 full semester courses
  • Withdraw from all Spring 2026 courses without Ws

If you are a current Undeclared student who needs to discuss any of the time sensitive topics above:

Undeclared Advising

Specialty Advising

Undeclared students who are in a special EXP cohort like the Enrichment Experience Program or James Scholar Honors Program, may elect to meet with the leads for those programs.

There are no available appointments before the March 13 deadline. What should I do?

Please call the EXP office – 217-333-4710 before 5:00pm on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Am I required to meet with someone on my Advising Team?

Meeting with a member of your Advising Team is highly recommended but not required. 

I am a James Scholar. Can I meet with Assistant Director, Sarah Smothers, for advising?

Yes, as a James Scholar student you can meet with someone on your Advising Team or with Sarah Smothers.

I am in the Enrichment Experience Program (EEP). Can I meet with an EEP advisor?

Yes, as a student in EEP, you can meet with someone on your Advising Team or with an appointed EEP advisor. 

I am interested in withdrawing for the term. Who should I meet with?

If you are considering withdrawing from your current courses and leaving the university, you need to call the Division of Exploratory Studies at 217-333-4710.  Please inform the receptionist of your desire to withdraw from the university and they will schedule you to meet with Director, Sarah Watson, or Associate Director, Teri Farr.

How do I schedule to meet the EXP Director or Associate Directors who are not listed on this scheduling site?
