Students exploring areas of study and careers are invited to participate in the Division of Exploratory Studies I-Explore Week in collaboration with The Career Center and the Exploration Living-Learning Community, University Housing.
I-Explore Week: September 28 – October 2, 2026

An exciting, full schedule of activities begin with the popular Majors and Minors Fair where students can gain valuable and timely information to assist with the exploration process in meetings with College representatives.
The week’s slate of events will offer strategies to help inform students’ decision-making as they invest in future success through educational paths that fit their career goals and aspirations.
Host An Event During I-Explore Week
Help students find their path by offering a session, workshop, or experience during I-Explore Week! We’re inviting colleges, departments, and campus units to showcase their programs and services to curious, motivated students—especially our large cohort of first-year Exploratory Studies students.
Have a topic, activity, or info session that could support students exploring majors, minors, or career paths? We’d love to include it in our I-Explore Week calendar!
Sessions can be held any time from the afternoon of Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2.
Event Submission FAQ
How many students attend I-Explore Week events?
I Explore Week launched in Fall 2024 as a brand-new collaboration between Exploratory Studies and The Career Center. In our second year, we saw 200+ students across 30 campus events — a mix of virtual and in-person sessions — and we’re excited to keep growing those numbers in 2026 with your help!
When should I schedule my session?
Plan your event after the Majors & Minors Fair, which wraps up at 4:30 PM on Monday, September 28. Sessions can run through Friday, October 2. Events later in the afternoon or evening tend to work best with student schedules, but all times are welcome! The Calendar of Events will be available online.
Why participate? What’s in it for me?
Exploratory Studies welcomes the third-largest incoming freshman class—a prime audience for recruitment and engagement! I-Explore Week offers a unique chance to connect with curious, motivated students and promote your program or service during a week of high visibility.

Should I take attendance?
Yes! Plan to track sign-ups through a registration form, take attendance at your session, and send us your participant list afterward. We’ll follow up with a post-event evaluation to gather student feedback on their I-Explore Week experience.
What kinds of programs have been offered?
In previous years, events included:
- Career Coaching Drop In Corner
- Study Abroad: Academic & Career Considerations
- Foundations of Exploring Health Professions
- Pursuing Pre-Law
- The Stress of Choosing a Major
- Majors to Help the Planet
- Crafting Your ICT Personal Statement
- Creative Confidence Workshops
- Internships in Research Park
- ICT Info Sessions
We welcome creative ideas! Host a hands-on class activity, open a lab, showcase a certificate or internship, or hold a simple info session. The goal: give students a real taste of what you offer.
How will my event be promoted?
We will be promoting I-Explore events to over 1,000 new students in EXP 101! Attendance at the Majors & Minors Fair is required for our first-year students and I-Explore Week events earn them extra credit. We’ll also promote through instructors, social media, flyers, our student org (ESA), and campus housing partners. We encourage you to spread the word to your own student audiences, too! Students will be able to view the Calendar of Events online.
Who attends I-Explore Week events?
Everyone exploring! While first- and second-year Exploratory Studies students are the core audience, we expect all students with curiosity about majors, minors, and campus resources to attend.
